Aimee Alcorn (she/her)

Senior Director of Clinical Services

Aimee has been a member of the Dream Team since November of 2019. Prior to joining our team, she worked as a Behavior Coordinator at Children’s Hospital Colorado in the Pediatric Mental Health Institute and was a teacher before that. Aimee is a passionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado and a Certified Trauma Professional. She is from Colorado and has a Master of Social Work degree from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree with minors in English and Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. Aimee has been published as an author on eight different professional articles in the field of behavioral science and mental health and has presented her findings at two national conferences.

Aimee is dedicated to removing barriers and increasing the knowledge and awareness of the impact that mental health plays on the overall success of the youth, families, and communities that we serve at Colorado “I Have A Dream” Foundation. She believes that if we dream together, we can create a world with compassionate, bold, passionate leaders and world changers! When we dream big, we will achieve big!

When Aimee is not working to ensure youth have the tools to thrive, she can be found spending time with her family and her adorable puppy, Luna. She loves hiking, traveling, painting, and finding new restaurants in town.

Andrew Paquet (he/him)

Clinical Intern

Andrew joined the Dream Team in August 2021 as a Clinical Intern. He has experience in working with youth with developmental disabilities and has extensive training in the science of Applied Behavior Analysis. He is originally from California and is pursuing a Master of Social Work degree from Colorado State University. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton.

Andrew is courageous in his work and isn’t afraid to get in and get things done. He feels fortunate to be part of a team that is dedicated to ensuring that youth reach their full potential.

When Andrew isn’t ensuring youth have the social-emotional skills to be successful, you can find him reading, painting, woodworking, or playing video games!

Elizabeth Dooley (she/her)

Clinical Intern

Elizabeth joined the Dream Team in August 2021 as a Cinical Intern. She has experience working with youth who have experienced trauma and are in residential programs. Elizabeth is originally from Texas and is pursuing her Master of Social Work degree from Colorado State University. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a minor in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University.

She is committed to giving youth and adults the space, with support, to explore their lived experiences and develop strategies to ensure they can achieve their dreams. Elizabeth loves teaching social-emotional skills and values that she gets to be part of a team that builds cross-cultural and mutually transforming relationships with youth and families.

When Elizabeth is not ensuring youth are growing their knowledge and understanding of social-emotional skills, you can find her reading or going on road trips.

Fernando Branch (he/him)

Senior Director of Partnerships & Programs

Fernando joined the Dream Team in August 2020 before which he was the Senior Manager of Intensive School Support and Redesign in Denver Public Schools. While in that role, he would support school teams and leaders with innovative resources to create sustainable change. Fernando is from Memphis, Tennessee, and has also been a classroom teacher as well as a school administrator – specifically focusing on the turnaround efforts in Denver Public Schools. Fernando is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Education degree from the University of Denver, has a Master of Educational Leadership and Policy from Union University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Fernando serves on the City of Centennial’s Public Safety Advisory Board and is an Affiliate Professor at Metropolitan State University.

Fernando is a strategic thinker and is passionate about working alongside youth and families to ensure they have the resources and skills to be successful throughout their lives. He believes we can change the world with a shared voice and is committed to instilling a love for education as he sees that as the cornerstone for generational change and empowerment. Fernando loves the push the Dream Team gives to not only each other but also their commitment to ensuring youth achieve their full potential.

Gabby Blanchard-Manning (she/her)

Engagement Specialist - Z Place Opportunity Center & Clinical Intern

Gabby joined the Dream Team in 2020 as a first-year Clinical Intern and opted to spend her final field experience with us as well. In addition to her time as an intern, Gabby joined us in Fall 2021 as an Engagement Specialist at Z Place Opportunity Center. Gabby is originally from Iowa and prior to joining the team, Gabby worked as a Supervisory Case Manager at Volunteers of America, was a Police Officer at the University of Iowa, and was a Captain in the United States Army. She is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work with a clinical focus at Colorado State University and has a Bachelor of Science in Russian Studies with a concentration in Environmental Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Gabby brings a high level of honor and commitment to her work with youth and families. She loves the culture and inclusiveness found at Colorado “I Have A Dream” Foundation. Additionally, she enjoys the humor and caringness her teammates bring and appreciates the organization’s commitment to being trauma-informed.

When Gabby isn’t meeting the youth where they are and providing a welcoming environment for them and their families, she can be found spending time with her family, playing the guitar and singing, bird watching, learning something new, and having fun with her most recent hobby and obsession – tie-dying!

Gemma Sanchez-Contreras (she/her)

Clinical Intern

Gemma joined the Dream Team as a Bachelor Level Clinical Intern in August 2021. She is pursuing her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver and has an Associate of Arts degree from Colorado Mountain College and is originally from Jalisco, Mexico. As a Dreamer in the DACA program herself, Gemma is passionate about ensuring youth and families have support so they can achieve their goals and feel confident that they can achieve anything they set their mind to!

Gemma is committed to equitable treatment within relationships and is excited to be part of the Dream Team and ensure youth and families’ needs are met to ensure they have all the opportunities to thrive.

When Gemma is not elevating the voices and experiences of young people, she is a huge advocate for self-care and enjoys going to the gym. She recognizes that if she doesn’t care for herself, she cannot care for others.

Hannah Bailey (she/her)

Program Manager - Westwood Opportunity Center

Hannah joined the Dream Team in September 2020. Hannah is the Program Manager for our Westwood Opportunity Center and brings with her experience as a middle school science teacher in Fort Worth, Texas where she was a Teach For America corps member and served as both the 6th-grade Team Chair and the Science Department Lead. Hannah is originally from Colorado and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Non-Profit Leadership from the University of Denver and has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with double minors in Child Development and Business from Texas Christian University.

Hannah is dedicated to the work we do at Colorado “I Have A Dream” Foundation and meets the community with a high level of empathy. She is passionate about ensuring educational equity and loves to find joy and humor with the youth in our community. Hannah values that the Dream Team is comprised of such a wide range of professionals who all share a deep dedication to working with our youth – all while having fun!

When Hannah is not ensuring the daily programming needs are met, you can find her cooking, checking out the latest restaurants in town, skiing, spending time with the people she loves, and most likely snuggling with her new puppy, Winnie!

Jamie Spotts (she/her)

Clinical Intern

Jamie joined the Dream Team in August 2021 as a Clinical Intern. She has experience in working in educational settings. She is originally from Spokane, Washington and is pursuing a Master of Social Work degree from Colorado State University. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Whitworth University.

Jamie is a strong believer in the dignity and worth of every person. She also believes that behavior is a communication tool. Combining these two values, Jamie brings a level of compassion and grace to the work she does daily with the youth and families we work alongside of. Jamie loves joining the Dream Team and watching youth work hard and thrive and smile while learning something new. She appreciates the diversity in personalities on the Dream Team and values the common passion for the mission and vision of the organization.

When Jamie is not encouraging youth to find their voice to express their wants and needs, she likes to quilt and enjoys making good sourdough bread from scratch and appreciates the lesson in patience and effort that it provides for her. Additionally, Jamie has been a dancer since she was three years old and can still be found tap dancing around, no matter what shoes she is wearing!

Jennifer Ramirez (she/her)

Clinical Intern

Jennifer joined the Dream Team in August 2021 as a Clinical Intern. She is originally from Orlando, Florida, and is pursuing her Master of Social Work from Colorado State University. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. Jennifer has a journal that is published on Amazon, called “My Little Book of Prayers.”

Jennifer is committed to the work she does on the Dream Team and brings a high level of gratitude and empathy to her role. Jennifer values that she gets to work with like-minded people who have the same drive and commitment to creating amazing opportunities for the youth and families we work alongside.

When Jennifer is not creating opportunities to thrive with the youth in our program, she can be found working out, going on hikes, and spending time with her dog.

Jocelyn Vangundy (she/her)

Clinical Intern

Jocelyn came on as a Clinical Intern in August 2021. She is originally from Colorado and is pursuing a Master of Social Work degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Relations with a minor in International Studies from the University of Colorado – Denver. Jocelyn is proud to have been awarded three academic achievement awards in May 2021 as well as being named the Outstanding Graduate in her field of study.

Jocelyn brings an admirable level of integrity to her work on the Dream Team and is passionate about working towards social justice and equity for underserved communities. Jocelyn’s personal values align with those of Colorado “I Have A Dream” Foundation and she is excited to be part of the Dream Team to uplift families and provide access to individual and family supports in the communities we work alongside of.

When Jocelyn is not lifting the voices of the community, she enjoys baking, reading, and enjoying various sites throughout the city.

Kaylee Sturgis (she/her)

Clinical Intern

Kaylee joined the Dream Team in August 2021 as a Clinical Intern. She is originally from Washington state and is pursuing her Master of Social Work at Metropolitan State University of Denver, and has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in psychology from the University of North Texas. She has extensive experience working with youth in educational and community settings.

Kaylee brings authenticity to her work daily and strives to meet the youth and families she is working with where they are at. She also seeks to encourage and give voice to those she works with to ensure that they are heard. Kaylee enjoys working with the Dream Team and having the opportunity to form new and genuine relationships/connections; she also values the professional support that she gets from her team members.

When Kaylee isn’t spreading joy and kindness to everyone in her presence, you can find her exercising, writing, listening to music, or spending time with family and friends.

Kim Sia (she/her)

President & CEO

Kim has led the Dream Team since she started with Colorado “I Have A Dream” Foundation in October 2019. Prior to joining our team, she was the CEO of KIPP Colorado Schools. Kim has over 20 years of experience in education having worked as a Teacher, Principal, Director of Professional Development, Chief Academic Officer, and Superintendent. She is originally from Iowa and has a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Organizations from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in History and German from Northwestern University. She was a member of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Leadership Denver Class of 2021 and sits on the Boards of Directors at University Prep, Colorado League of Charter Schools, and The Mockingbird Foundation.

Kim brings a strong commitment to partnering with youth, families, and communities to identify and engage in new opportunities. She believes collaboration is essential in breaking down the inequities caused by systemic oppression. She is proud to work with a team dedicated to putting youth and families first.

When Kim is not partnering and engaging with the community, she can be found spending time with her husband and two children, practicing yoga, hiking, camping, or getting lost in one of the many books she reads all at the same time.

Lena Carrillo (she/her)

Clinical Intern

Lena came on as a Clinical Intern in August 2021. She is originally from Colorado and is pursuing a Master of Social Work degree from Colorado State University and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Colorado.

Lena values connection and has a passion for social justice and equity for all. Her values align with the mission of Colorado “I Have A Dream” Foundation and appreciates the culture within the individual sites and the organization as a whole. She especially enjoys the energy Dream Team members bring and the common passion for growth shared with everyone!

When Lena is not fighting for equity of the youth and families we work alongside, she can be found spending time with her family and friends. She loves being outside, traveling, and attending sporting events.

Madison Rose (she/her)

Engagement Specialist- Westwood Opportunity Center

Madison joined the Dream Team in August 2021 and is an Engagement Specialist. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado where she graduated with honors and received the Shaka Franklin Foundation’s Profile of Courage Award for her work in activism and civic engagement. Additionally, the research she conducted on the biopsychosocial aspects of mass murder was featured at the University of Colorado’s Research and Creative Activities Symposium. Madison is from Colorado and has a certificate in teaching English as a Foreign Language. Prior to joining our team, Madison taught English at Littleton Immigration Center.

Madison brings a high level of empathy to her work. She respects the stories of each individual and celebrates their unique and diverse backgrounds. Madison is passionate about civil rights, violence prevention, and education and loves that on the Dream Team everyone supports one another and she has the opportunity to continue to learn and grow.

Malik Burton (he/him)

Program Manager - Z Place Opportunity Center

Malik joined the Dream Team in September 2021 as the Program Manager at Z Place Opportunity Center. He is originally from Kansas City, Missouri. Malik joined the team with significant experience in higher education settings. He has a Master in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from Iowa State University. Malik is certified in Adult Mental Health First Aid.

Malik brings a level of authenticity to his work on the Dream Team and is passionate about social justice. His favorite part about working on this team is the passion each person has for the work they do and feels this aids in the connections built with youth. He believes the collective strengths of the team create experiences youth enjoy while they are pushed to learn and grow in a variety of ways – not to mention the fun that is had along the way!

When Malik is not facilitating the day-to-day operations of the center, you can find him playing or watching basketball, working out, writing poetry, or searching for new music.

Megan Davis(she/her)

Engagement Specialist - Z Place Opportunity Center

Megan joined the Dream Team in August 2021 as an Engagement Specialist. She is originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota and came to us with extensive experience working in community education settings. She is proud of the work she did in Minneapolis Public Schools Community Education where her team and she completely revitalized and rebuilt the enrichment programs that served youth and adults in the community. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Non-Profit Leadership from the University of Denver and has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Bethel University. Megan is a dancer and founded, managed, and instructed for a successful dance school for youth ages two through 18.

She brings a high level of empathy to her work and is passionate about connecting with local communities and collaborating for collective success. Megan loves learning from and being challenged daily by team members as well as the community at large and feels grateful she is part of the community.

When Megan isn’t ensuring our youth meet their full potential she enjoys dancing, playing the piano and singing, playing video and board games, and spending time with her husband Matt and her dog Rylie. She also loves watching endless videos of her nieces and nephews.

Michael Churchill (he/him)

Engagement Specialist - Z Place Opportunity Center

Mike joined the Dream Team in August 2021 as an Engagement Specialist at Z Place Opportunity Center. He is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, yet went to high school in Denver, Colorado. Mike (“Coach”) has decades of experience working with youth and other underrepresented communities across the Denver Metro area. He proudly served as a United States Marine and is looking forward to pursuing higher education in the coming years! Additionally, Mike is the only male in his generation within his family to graduate from high school – an accomplishment that he is very proud of – as he should be!

Mike is committed to making a difference in anything that he touches. He values the diversity of personalities and skillsets that are found on the Dream Team and appreciates that he is able to learn something new from everyone (especially the youth), daily!

When Mike is not spreading positivity and hope to the youth and families that we work alongside of, you can find him fishing, coaching basketball, or spending time with his son and daughter.

Sophie Silver-Trujillo (she/her)

Clinical Manager

Sophie came to the Dream Team as the Clinical Manager in February 2020 from Children’s Hospital Colorado where she worked as a Mental Health Counselor in the Pediatric Mental Health Institute. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado and a National Professional Counselor. She has a great deal of experience in working with people, specifically youth, who are experiencing grief and loss. Sophie is proud to say she is originally from Denver! She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Denver. She enjoys research and data analysis and has been published in 15 articles in the field of Behavioral Health and Engineering.

Sophie brings a level of humility and empathy to her work and is the dedicated leader of our Clinical Internship program, ensuring the next generation of mental health professionals leaves their intern experience highly skilled in this work. Sophie is skilled at providing a safe space for community members to be authentic and feel love and support. She loves that the Dream Team members support one another and share the same values and passion for working alongside youth and families.

When Sophie is not training the next generation of mental health workers, she loves spending time with her husband and daughter and their dog, Olive. You can usually find them around Denver enjoying new sites or in the mountains somewhere.

Stephanie Dreiling (she/her)

VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE AND OPERATIONS

Steph joined the Dream Team thirteen years ago and currently works as the Vice President of Finance and Operations. She is a fourth-generation Coloradoan; however, she spent nearly a decade in Maui, Hawaii where she worked at Paradise Television and the Pacific Whale Foundation. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis on public relations and advertising and a Minor in sociology from the University of Northern Colorado.

Steph grounds our team and brings light and positivity to all she encounters! She is passionate about the work we do at Colorado “I Have A Dream” Foundation and believes that together we can create a just, sustainable, and equitable future for all generations to come – as John Lennon once said, “A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.”

When Steph is not at work, you can find her enjoying time with her family and friends, hanging with her pup, Nalu, surrounding herself in the beauty of the mountains, or seeing some live music.

Summer Wimberly (she/her)

Director of College & Career Development

Summer joined the Dream Team in July 2021 as the Director of College and Career Development. Prior to joining the team, she worked at Aurora Community College in the Dual Enrollment program assisting High School age youth to complete college credit while they are finishing their high school degree. Summer is from Northern California and has a Master of Arts in English, Rhetoric, and Composition from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Princeton University.

Summer is dependable and committed to college access and success for historically excluded populations. She appreciates the dedication that the Dream Team, as a whole, has to meet youth and families where they are at as well as the encouragement and support to the youth to uplift themselves.

When Summer is not ensuring that youth are college and career ready, she can be found reading, exercising, and crafting.
